Breast swelling and pain
  • This symptom is seen more commonly in female patients. Sometimes it can be a physiological phenomenon experienced by women who are breastfeeding, before their periods, during pregnancy, or after childbirth. However, if breast swelling is accompanied by redness, pain, and fever, mastitis could be present. Other causes include: chronic mastitis, fibrocystic breast disease, breast cancer, breast benign tumors. Men occasionally experience chest swelling and pain caused by gynecomastia when hormonal disorders or liver dysfunction affect hormone metabolism.
